Abstract
The rapid development of digital technologies has significantly influenced modern education, creating new opportunities for language learning. Social networks have become an integral part of students’ daily lives and can serve as effective tools for educational purposes. This study examines the potential of social networks in learning Russian as a non-native language. The research analyzes how students use platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in the process of language learning and explores teachers’ perspectives on integrating these digital environments into educational practice. The empirical study included a survey of students and teachers to determine the frequency, effectiveness, and educational value of social networks in language learning. The results show that while students spend considerable time on social media, its potential for educational purposes is not fully utilized. The findings demonstrate that the integration of social networks into language learning can increase motivation, improve communication skills, and support independent learning. The article concludes that social networks can serve as effective supplementary tools in teaching Russian as a non-native language when used within a structured pedagogical framework.
