Abstract

The article aims to delve into the intricacies of defining the initial stage of communicative proficiency in oral expression. In their exploration of this pedagogical conundrum, the authors provide a comprehensive analysis of the data, allowing us to surmise that, on the whole, the objectives set for the initial phase of foreign language acquisition can be successfully achieved. In this article, we will analyze the communicative competence required for speaking in a specific field and determine its initial level. This data also enables us to pinpoint the critical areas of focus and to discern which skills necessitate greater attention and effort in establishing an initial level of linguistic communication proficiency among learners of a foreign tongue. The paper employed deductive and inductive approaches to language acquisition. While the inductive approach allows students to draw more general rules from specific language phenomena, the deductive approach goes from general principles to specific examples. The authors conclude that, in general, the initial step of teaching a foreign language can be completed thanks to the cross-sectional data.
