Abstract

This article investigates the phenomenon of gender socialization through literature instruction in educational settings. Literature lessons constitute a significant source of intellectual development and imitation for individuals. In the context of contemporary global transformations, the impact of gender perceptions has emerged as a pressing concern, directly influencing the upbringing of youth. Gender dynamics depicted in literary works can elicit diverse responses among students, potentially including negative attitudes, based on their developmental stage and individual experiences. Beyond its entertainment value, literature offers a valuable source of insights into societal norms and values.

This article employs interdisciplinary research methods to analyze prose works included in the Kazakh literature curriculum for grades 5-9, examining their gender-related themes from sociological and psychological perspectives. The study assesses the influence of these literary works on students' perceptions of gender.
