Abstract

The article deals with the issues of lexical and semantic adaptation of anglicisms in the Russian and Karakalpak languages on the material of the media during the coronavirus infection. Analyzing the mass media of Karakalpakstan in the period 2020-2022, we can see the spread of many international elements in the Karakalpak language. It should be noted that the article discusses neologisms, some of which are not recorded in the available foreign-language dictionaries. During this period, foreign words and terms of English origin were included in the composition of all languages of the world at an accelerated pace. The use of terms given in the reports of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the media contributed to this phenomenon. It should be noted that in the modern world, Anglicisms penetrate into foreign language environments through the media, via the Internet, so the processes of their development and adaptation proceed faster than before. Anglicisms contained in the media remained outside the field of view of researchers.
