The article analyzes the power of the art of kuy, which is considered a national value for the Kazakh people and the individual characteristics of the personality of kuysha in the story “Kyuy aty - Dairabay” by the literary critic, teacher, poet, and writer T.N. Rakhimzhanov. The social contradictions in the life of kuishi and the reality of that time are examined. At the same time, the problem of the writer’s ability to transform the reality of life into the artistic reality of Dairabai’s fate is discussed. Based on this, the main attention is paid to the study of the artistic and aesthetic basis of the story. Through the historical fate of kuishi, the character of individuality in him is highlighted and studied, and the position of the writer is determined.
