This visual quote correlates logically with the concept of the film «The Matrix»: Neo is a new Messiah who must transform the virtual world, and his transition from the virtual world of the «matrix» to the real world is interpret-ed in the paradigm of the motifs of death and resurrection. The ideological (and plot) motivation of this quote is obvious: to create a visual image of the dead Messiah, who is soon to be resurrected.
