The transfer of the meaning and form of aspect (type) and tense in the Turkic languages is one of the problems which still has not found its solution in linguistics.
This article examines the development of the meaning and form of the aspect and tense in dia- chrony and synchrony in the linguistics of the Turkic languages. Turkologists have proved by con- crete examples that in the Turkic languages the specific category of the verb is transmitted through
the category of tense, since the aspect does not grammatically have the status of an independent cat- egory. In the Turkic languages, the meaning of type and tense are closely related. Since there is no concept of grammatical aspect in the Turkic languages, it cannot be said that the Turkic languages do not have the meaning of aspect at all, because in the Turkic languages the meanings of tense have taken on additional shades of aspect.
