The category of deprivation as a part of the semantic categories interfaced is considered in the
article. On the basic of it its status as independent semantic category is defined. As interfaced to
category of deprivation category of no possession and category of negatives are considered. On the
basis of the analysis of semantics of these categories essential difference of category of a
deprivation from them is proved. Major factor of such difference is the causative of obligatory in
the language units with linked semantics.
