Abstract

The article discusses the theoretical problems of the concept of personality in literature and the manifestations of modern national prose on the basis of individual works of art. About the concept of personality at the time, researchers raised many questions, but even today this topic is considered relevant. Because the connection between man and society is constantly developing, changing. Today, along with history, the moral, ethical and socio-psychological problems of the present time are of interest to writers. Literature has been looking for various ways to fully and deeply represent a person in a changing world. At the same time, the problem of personality is a complex topic. Researchers had different points of view on it. The article systematized and analyzed the scientific conclusions expressed by the researchers. The concept of personality determines artistic development. The main distinguishing feature of romanticism and realism was directly related to the concept of personality. Now, at one point of view, a person in literature was perceived as a person of the highest social and individual essence. It is said that its content should be the main criterion of aesthetic and artistic and ethical assessment in a work of art. Personality was also defined as a producer of spiritual values, a carrier of certain aesthetic tastes, ideals, views. Although different points of view and conclusions are expressed, we cannot say that the content of the concept of personality is fully disclosed. After all, the more complex a person is in the modern world, the more multifaceted the image of a person in literature. In literary studies, the terms "sacrificial person" and "European person" are widely used in the classification of the problem of personality. At the same time, in subsequent studies, three categories of personality were identified – religiosity, ambivalence and egocentric types. The article compares and analyzes scientific conclusions about the concept of personality.
