Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of Bakhytzhan Kanapyanov's story ‘Bakhchisaray’ with a focus on the problem of national identity and cultural memory. The study examines the ways in which the author, through the image and experiences of the hero, conveys the theme of loss of homeland and preservation of cultural memory in the conditions of exile. The image of the old man Kemal experiencing nostalgia for Crimea, as well as the symbolism of Bakhchisarai become central elements for understanding the depth of connection with the native land and the past. The article uses the method of systemic analysis, as well as the approach to research through psycho-emotional and cultural reconstruction, which helps to reveal the mechanisms of preserving national identity through the experiences of the characters. Kanapyanov's story allows us to see the importance of memory and spiritual connection with the native culture despite external difficulties and forced exile.
