The article analyzes the novel by the outstanding poet and writer of Kazakh literature Zhumeken Nazhimedenov «Fame and rumor». Through the fate of the main character of the novel, the writer highlighted the current problems characteristic of his era. The work describes in detail the images of the characters, which characteristically contrast with each other. The research work is based on the study of the artistic and ideological specifics of the novel and the analysis of the fate of a man of art built on fame and rumor in the novel. Special attention is paid to the role of such psychological techniques as monologue, dialogue, situationality in the text, used to enhance the artistic power of the work. The article analyzes various conflicts on the way to art, the second shadow of glory, creative destruction and the skill of the writer who turned it into the idea of a work of art. National knowledge, customs, traditions, which have become the basis of national existence, are analyzed by the example of the work.
