The article highlights the theoretical and practical aspects of using authentic texts in teaching Russian to students of non-linguistic specialties.The relevance of the topic is due to the current language situation and the need to improve the language training of students at Kazakhstani universities. Real trilingualism, established and successfully functioning in the country, requires adherence to certain approaches to teaching the Russian language, including complete immersion in the language environment through the use of authentic communicative situations.The article describes various approaches to defining an authentic text, its classification, and types of authentic text.Types of authentic tasks are identified. The genres of authentic texts that can be used in teaching depending on the functions they perform are systematized. Examples of authentic tasks used in teaching the Russian language in technical universities are also given.
