The article provides a description of the literary image of the national teacher A. Baitursynuly in fictional literature. The period covered ranges from the early 20th century to the early 21st century. Among the works written in the first quarter of the 20th century, dedicatory poems, epigrams, and epics were examined. In the works of the 1930s–1940s, particular attention was paid to novellas, dramatic plays, and novels. The author’s perspective, as well as the depth of thought and ideas in early poetic works, were carefully analyzed. The poetic craftsmanship of the writers was also discussed. In works from the Soviet era, the political tone and characteristics of the time were explored. The efforts of authors who boldly tried to portray historical truth without embellishment were acknowledged. The conclusions of those writers who, due to political reasons, took a different artistic approach were taken into account.
Common features of all fictional works published during the period of independence were highlighted. Across these works, the consistency of the authors and their deep understanding of the topic were evident. The image of the character in dedicatory poems was analyzed. Attention was paid to the distinct features of positive and negative characters in fictional texts. The views of researchers who studied this topic were considered. The scholars’ conclusions played an important role in broadening the thematic scope. The article analyzes works written about A. Baitursynuly in chronological order.
