The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the sociolinguistic, cognitive, and linguocultural features of internet slang in contemporary youth communication. The study examines the causes of the emergence of slang units in social networks and messaging platforms, their mechanisms of dissemination, and their communicative functions in youth discourse. Internet slang serves as an important linguistic tool that structures informal communication, enhances emotional-expressive meaning, and facilitates social identification. The research systematizes the findings of both foreign and domestic scholars, considering slang in terms of semantic dynamics, cognitive structure, national linguistic environment, bilingualism, and literary language norms. Foreign studies emphasize the cognitive nature and semantic variability of slang, whereas domestic research focuses on its influence on the development of the Kazakh language, linguistic culture, and literary norms. Additionally, the article explores the formation of slang as a concept based on cognitive models and frames, demonstrating that slang units establish stable emotional, evaluative, and social connections in the minds of young people. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of youth language dynamics, current processes in the development of the Kazakh language, and the impact of digital communication on language. Internet slang is viewed as a natural manifestation of language development and an important linguistic indicator of contemporary youth culture.
