This article is dedicated to the analysis of the evolution of gender-specific vocabulary in languages of different systems, reflecting deep sociocultural, historical, and linguistic transformations. The work traces the development of gender-specific vocabulary from the Old Russian period, where it was limited to biological differences, to the present day, characterized by an active discussion of gender identity issues. Key historical stages are examined: the influence of Peter the Great's reforms on the expansion of profession-related vocabulary, the role of the 19th-century feminist movement in the emergence of gender-neutral forms, the contradictions of the Soviet period between the ideology of equality and the preservation of stereotypes, and the impact of globalization and digital technologies on the contemporary lexicon. Particular attention is paid to the emergence of new terms related to business, gender identity, and feminisms. In conclusion, it is emphasized that gender-specific vocabulary not only reflects but also actively shapes societal perceptions of gender.
