The article examines the ergonyms of Kazakhstan’s sports sphere as significant linguistic and cultural markers that reflect national identity, historical development, and global influences. The study is based on a linguoculturological approach, which treats ergonyms not only as linguistic units but also as cultural signs embodying social values and worldview. The empirical material includes the names of sports facilities collected from open sources such as online directories, media articles, and company logos. Special attention is given to the national and cultural components encoded in ergonyms, which often emerge through secondary nomination, reinterpretation of existing words, and incorporation of cultural symbols, realia, and stereotypes. The analysis reveals semantic models that preserve traditional Kazakh cultural elements (e.g., Batyr, Umit, Tulpar) alongside those reflecting globalization and Western influence (e.g., Adrenaline, Lifetime, World Class). The dynamics of ergonym formation are traced across historical periods from the Soviet era to modern Kazakhstan, highlighting the shift from collective socialist naming traditions to individual and market-oriented practices. The study emphasizes the dual function of ergonyms: preserving national heritage while adapting to contemporary trends of modernization and internationalization.
