Abstract

The article provides a description of trigger topics that are transmitted in modern Kazakhstani society through mass media and mass communication channels. In this article, trigger topics are understood not only as subjects but also as events that can evoke emotional reactions or memories in people, often associated with negative or traumatic experiences. These topics can vary for different individuals, but in Kazakhstani society, a number of topics have emerged that cause a strong public resonance. The study identifies and names these topics, which include corruption, pro-government arbitrariness, violence against women and children, and bullying. When conducting judicial linguistic expertise upon lawyer requests, a philologist-expert should consider the topics being discussed in public debates and take into account the degree of responsibility in the expert opinion. For comparison, the researchers present a number of other topics, such as social and trending ones. The article provides a classification of trending and trigger topics.
