Abstract

This article examines the issues of the Pushkin theme in M. Auezov’s novel “Abai’s Path,” which describes the life and work of the outstanding Kazakh poet, thinker and public figure Abai Kunanbayev. The theme of A.S. also plays a decisive role in the novel “Abai’s Path”. Pushkin, which manifests itself in several aspects, in particular, it talks about his influence on Abai’s work. The novel details how Abai became acquainted with Pushkin’s work: he translated Pushkin’s works into Kazakh, including the novel “Eugene Onegin.” For Abai, as for many representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia of that time, Pushkin was a symbol of the highest literary excellence and cultural breakthrough. The article provides an analysis of Pushkin's theme, which is an important element for understanding the cultural connections between Russian and Kazakh literatures, as well as for revealing the inner world and creative path of Abai himself.
