The latest fiction has not been studied enough to date, and the approaches to mastering it are accepted by researchers in very different ways. The materials of the article provide an opportunity to see the prospects and ways of mastering the artistic text from the point of view of modern scientific trends, based on the structural and historical-functional methods of modern literary criticism. The article addresses issues related to the peculiarities of "mass literature," which took a significant place in the literary process of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Of interest is the object and subject of research, the author and the artistic world, by understanding the artistic text and its poetics. The uniqueness of the study is that the work of T. Alekseev, like his work, was not presented in modern literary criticism. The individual style of the writer from the point of view of the influence of postmodern movements identified in the literature of the first decade of the 21st century has not been studied. The article pays special attention to artistic techniques in character drawing, ideological and artistic, moral problems of the novel.
